Please call (608) 214-3570. ![]() The Turner Hall of Monroe, Wisconsin is a cultural gem of Swiss heritage that has been at the heart of our community since 1868. ln fact, it is believed to be the only still-standing, still-operating Turner Hall of Swiss origin remaining in the entire United States, as well as one of the oldest, continuously operating Swiss entities in the US. As part of a series of year-long events celebrating Turner Hall's sesquicentennial, Turner Hall of Monroe is joining with the Monroe Theatre Guild to present The Forever Bridge, a delectable 6-course gala dinner and celebration of Turner Hall's illustrious 150-year story told through a variety of theatrical vignettes, songs, music, movement, and photos. Performers from throughout Green County will be participating to bring this story to life. Actors, singers, gymnasts, yodelers, accordion players and other musicians are joining their creative forces to portray historical characters, celebrities, famous entertainers, and prominent local figures from Monroe's history. The efforts to create this one-time-only tribute have involved historical research, scouring old documents, finding and examining old photographs, closely examining the current Turner Hall building, gathering local memories of Turner Hall experiences, and interviewing many involved on all sides of Turner Hall's history. A fundraiser for both the Turner Hall of Monroe and Monroe Theatre Guild, the evening of delicious food and lively entertainment is sure to be an unforgettable tribute to this remarkable community icon.
