Self-described as a "travel writer, chocolate lover and Englishman in Bern", Diccon Bewes will be making an appearance at the Turner Hall of Monroe for a reading and signing of his popular 2010 book, Swiss-Watching: Inside the Land of Milk and Honey". In cooperation with the Swiss Center of North America in New Glarus, Wisconsin, the book reading is part of Turner Hall's on-going Swiss Heritage Series.

In English, the book is an interesting and entertaining collection of facts, as well as little-known information, about Switzerland. It went on to become a best-seller in Switzerland, and was a Financial Times Book of the Year in 2010. A number of reviews can be read here.

In addition to Swiss-Watching, Bewes has written the ultimate Swiss fact book, Swisscellany (2012) and Slow Train to Switzerland (2013).

Copies of Swiss-Watching and Slow Train to Switzerland will be available for sale, with proceeds benefitting the Swiss Center of North America.

For an example of some of Bewes' revelations about Swissness, watch this video (which is one of several viewable online):

This book reading, as well as other programs during 2015, is part of Turner Hall's on-going Swiss Heritage Series. More information on the Swiss Heritage Series is available here.
